Time to give so overall opinion about the whole Learning Camp 2. I have given concrete words about particular days in previous posts but I haven't said anything about the very first week. I am going to tell you mostly about it in this post and few lines in the end about Learning Camp 2 as a whole.

2 November 2017.
In the morning of that day we had a debate we have been preparing for several weeks. The topic was "Organisational culture vs National culture in business". We had to prove what has a bigger impact on business. And debate was formal so there were guidelines and a format. I want to start with negative sides this time as they piss me off.
16 October 2017
It was a long day. As usual, day was divided into 2 parts: Lectures in the morning and the noon. In the morning we discussed how to give a public speech. What should be done and what should be avoided. 22 September 2017.
That day we had classes about research methods and ethics. We were told what is wrong and what is right during research performance and data collection. How data is stored and destroyed once the time comes. I would've never guess that most highest security measures are taken even for a most simple research. And the time for keeping it exceeded decades. As for the methods themselves , for our own researches we were advised to use Webropol to conduct surveys (if we need it, and I am sure we will) as it allows greater analysis and insight of the collected results. I will keep this name in mind. It was a good attempt, but the performance during the day wasn't as good as I would like.
Summer is over and it's time to go back to studying. It is important to achieve something during that time, otherwise what's the purpose of studying anyway?
What I would like to develop during the 2nd semester: It is the end of the semester and the time to look at myself and say what has I achieve (or failed at) At the beginning of studies, I set next traits to develop or improve: English speaking skill, Goal Orientation, Time Management and Self-Reflecting skill. Let's start with the speech. I can boldly claim that my speech undoubtedly improved. Natives in my class can confirm it. Goal Orientation: FAILED. I didn't knew what I want to get in the future and I still don't know it. Time Management: FAIL. I still go to sleep very late leaving very little time for it. And my situation of starting doing my works just few days before the deadlines hasn't changed. I have to work on it harder. Self-Reflecting: can't say for sure. I still don't know how to reflect, no matter who and how I asked. Is it a simple learning from mistakes? Then why do I have to speak about it? However, I develop some competences I didn't aim at. With all the Reading Circle classes, I became to understand customers better. Customer understanding is indeed an important skill in life. In addition, thanks to Business Plan Competition and some other cases, I've got some experience in presenting. At the beginning I couldn't present anything no matter who is the audience. Now I feel better, more confident and sweat less, He-he. That's it. I will retry where I failed and attempt to develop new traits in the next semester. Today, 8 May 2017, Apple reached a new high score in market capitalization. It passed $800 billion and stopped at $817.4 billion according to NASDAQ AAPL index. Isn't that amazing? I am not a huge fun of Apple and their I-series products, but the numbers are incredible, if you think about it. Take, for example, a Turkey's GDP. By 23 April 2017, it's $793 billions. Apple has more money then Turkey. And Turkey is 17th in the list of countries by GDP. And there are ~193 countries in the list. It means Apple is richer than 177 countries of our Planet. Basically, Apple can found a new state. After thoroughly thinking about that, I have a controversial opinion. On one side, it is awesome. Apple is doing great and demonstrates a great results, an example of a successful company. On the other, however, it shows how uneven wealth is distributed in our world. No matter what, It's a wonderful time to live in. And one more. The price for 1 Bitcoin has exceeded $1,800. It worth more than gold now. Just WOW.
All this hassle around North Korea and their missiles makes me sick. Unreasonable hype around it is pathetic. I don't know what NK plans, but it will not launch any missiles at Japan nor South Korea, that's for sure. Despite all these mighty words about their power, NK is still a small, starving and weak country. It will not go against such power as US.
Western politics and news channels think that if they shout loud about NK, people will care less about more concerning, closer problems inside their own country. Strategy of pointing at outside threat and thus distract attention of people from their empty pockets and fridges doesn't work in our time, not like in 20th century. They should reconsider priorities and their opining about intellect of people. So boring |
